Okay, I realize that over here in the UK many people buy a criminalized bag of “weed” from a dude in a puffa jacket, and that things are much more civilized in Colorado but OMG this shit is ridiculous/amazing! Dabs and such make me a bit nervous (unless for legit medicinal) as reducing plants to white powders therein danger lies. IMHO. If you only miss one podcast this year… No but srsly: The psychedelic salon podcast has released part four of the Terence McKenna conference at Esalen I went to back in ’96 after I found tapes the retreat center had given me in my parents attic. This is the conference which catalyzed my book The Techno Pagan Octopus Messiah (check me bio) and where I met the two dudes who would later marry my wife and I, one of whom came with me to Egypt and became a character. Anyway, this episode is all about his bloody time wave zero which even at the time struck my buddy as “more of an elaborate card trick than anything”. Because no, the world didn’t end on Dec 26 2012, unless I missed something. Still, if you’re a Terence McKenna completist like myself this lecture does show his near encyclopedic knowledge of history and it’s various build up and dam bursts of novelty. This alone is almost worth the price of admission. Almost.
